Interns at Kullman experience a stimulating work environment where they gain real world skills to complement their coursework. As an intern, from day one, you’ll be an important member of our team. Kullman interns spend their first 3 days in our on-site factory gaining first hand knowledge of off-site construction and how our factory runs. Interns learn how each production line operates and the details that go into each work station to create a modular building. Our interns are even given the opportunity to work in the factory side by side with team members to gain an appreciation of offsite construction methods. Kullman creates a remarkable professional and learning experience for interns while promoting enthusiasm for the off site construction industry.
Kullman interns learn from our seasoned Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Estimating, and Buyers who become their mentors during their internship at KBC. We give our interns the opportunity to immerse themselves in real project work, from Architects developing designs from client scope of works to Engineers designing mechanical and electrical systems in residential and commercial construction to Project Managers assisting with the coordination of construction programs. We strive to give our interns insight and understanding of what day to day life is like at an off-site construction company. Not only do interns get mentored in their specific area of interest, but with approximately 200 employees, the advantage for interns at KBC lies in the opportunity to explore many different facets of the day to day operations of our business.

The Cellophane House - MoMA NYC
The Kullman Experience offers many great opportunities to be part of innovative projects. Featured here, is the Cellophane House. The Cellophane House is a five-story dwelling commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art and built by Kullman. Interns with the direction and leadership of our Architects and Engineers, helped construct this innovative structure in the Kullman factory as part of their experience.
Concept
Kullman Buildings Corp. was retained by KieranTimberlake Associates of Philadelphia to build the Cellophane House for the Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) exhibition “Home Delivery: Fabricating the Modern Dwelling.” Kullman donated the project which included the assembly of the 14 modules for the five-story as well as delivery to the exhibit site.
Keeping with its moniker, the Cellophane House was constructed utilizing mostly translucent materials. Equipped with photovoltaic panels for electricity and polypropylene panels for thermal insulation, the Cellophane House was one of five full-scale prefabricated houses on exhibit in the outdoor space to the west of MoMA’s building.
